Our Story

The Scotty Burger was pioneered by, you guessed it, Scott! Simply put, this guy knows a good burger when he tastes one. Our mouthwatering stuffed burger is his contribution to burger excellence.  For years it was served to friends at small backyard barbeques. When we brought them along to serve for dinner on our annual house boating trip several years ago, the response was overwhelming!  The words “You should sell those!” echoed in our minds for some time. The time came when we agreed that, yes, we really should sell these burgers…

And voila! The Scotty Burger was graciously welcomed into The Invermere Farmer’s Market for the summer season. Every Saturday morning we packed up our BBQ, our tent and our coolers, and set up shop at the entrance to the market. Again, the response was tremendous! By our second season we were grilling a record number of burgers each Saturday, and the demand for take home burgers rose steadily. Orders were pouring in from locals and visitors alike, and our burgers were travelling across the country to exciting destinations such as The Calgary Stampede.

Looking to take the locally famous Scotty Burger to the next level, we leased the empty kitchen space at Pynelogs in the summer of 2007. This is when we realized that a great beachfront cafe location had literally fallen into our laps! We decided to take our sense of adventure and our food and beverage experience and put them to good use. The Pynelogs Cafe opened in April 2008 and we are currently in our sixth season of operation.
